The SETI-Jam
Information compiled from the SETI-Jam site.
The SETI-JAM is a global endeavor. Game developers from anywhere, on or off the planet can participate. The Jam is a three day experience beginning on Friday (Oct. 16) and concluding with game presentations on Sunday evening (Oct. 19).
The SETI-JAM’s theme centers on the Institute’s quest to understand life in the universe. In 1960, Frank Drake came up with the Drake Equation to estimate the number of technology-savvy societies that might be in our galaxy. All SETI-JAM games will address one or more of the Drake Equation’s terms and incorporate real data into the game.
During the three days of the SETI-JAM, you will have the opportunity to learn from SETI Institute scientists and mentors to integrate cutting edge research into your games. At the end of the weekend, you will pitch your games to leading NASA and SETI scientists, aerospace entrepreneurs, and members of 3,000,000 member strong SETI Institute community!
